K9 Premiere Series Canadian Debut
K9 Premiere Series Canadian Debut
The premiere series of K9 will receive it’s Canadian debut from September 2012 (times and dates to be confirmed). K9 will air on BBC Kids, a channel co-owned by BBC Worldwide.
News will also be announced shortly concerning the network broadcast in the USA of K9 series 1 for this Fall too.
Series two involves a new production partnership. Bob Baker will be writing more of this series (another 26 episodes are planned).
K9 will also be “tweeked”, in particular the ears! – that’s all for now.
You can find out all about K9 Here. A collectors figurine is now also available.

June 16th, 2012 - 5:32pmI thought the series was OK, it would have been much better if it was made by the BBC but I do like the design of this K9, looks more sci-fi.

June 11th, 2012 - 10:50pmIf it is being shown on BBC Kids does that mean that BBC Worldwide are kinda considering it as a true DW production?

June 11th, 2012 - 10:48pmI can’t remember where I read it but Steven Moffat’s kids like K-9 so as far as he is concerned it canon – but “[he] is only an individual and has [his] own opinion”

June 11th, 2012 - 10:45pmI really like the show. It does annoy me about K-9’s new personality but I still love the show 😀

June 11th, 2012 - 10:35pmAs far as the BBC is concerned it is non-canon.
The K9 production team believes it is canon but its not really in a position to say what is and isn’t. The decision lies down to the individual fan at the end of the day but it has no authorisation of any form from the Doctor Who production team.

June 11th, 2012 - 6:18pmi didn’t like k9’s personality. It wasn’t like k9! I really like the idea of k9 getting a spin of as he is one of my favorite characters but this wasn’t what i had in mind 🙁
i wanted canonical stuff made by the BBC like k9 and company but they sold it off. oh well, at least its watchable.

June 11th, 2012 - 1:37pmthere are several K9’s – the problem is people think there was only one – the Doctor Made some himself
This is the one that was left with leela
Bod baker owns the idea of K9 but the not design of the original k9’s, this belongs to the BBC – hence the regeneration into something that looks completely different.
This K9 and the one you see in Doctor Who and SJS are not the same versions
It explains it all here http://www.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/k9/characters/k9-metal-mutt-guide/

June 11th, 2012 - 1:30pmis this K-9 series canon?
yes we know that K-9 traveld with the doctor but the show is not made by the BBC. they have fetured a axon in one episode(which bob baker also created along with david martin) but is it conected with the series like torchwood and the sarah jane adventures? or is it non canon
I am confused
and one more question
why have’t the daleks apeard in there own on screen spin off show or other proper aperances on other spin off shows?
a cyberman( partly converted cyberman who is actualy Iantos girlfriend) has apeard on torchwood, a Hoix also apeard in torchwood as well as martha jones, jadoon, sontarans, the brigadair, evan the doctor himself(which breaks the spin off rules) has apeard in the sarah jane adventures(sorry if I have missed any one out so why is it diffacult for the daleks to make an apearance?
