Doctor Who Nightmare In Silver Trailers / Pictures

Nightmare In Silver Next Time Trailer

BBC One on 11 May at 7.00pm to 7.45pm

Hedgewick’s World of Wonders was once the greatest theme park in the galaxy, but it’s now the dilapidated home to a shabby showman, a chess-playing dwarf and a dysfunctional army platoon.

When the Doctor, Clara, Artie and Angie arrive, the last thing they expect is the re-emergence of one of the Doctor’s oldest foes. The Cybermen are back

Yeh that’s what I think, I think they are exhibits that don’t do anything hence the Cyberman at the chess board and the two Cybus Cybermen standing and not moving. I think that the people are converting themselves also

    MY THEORY
I think that the old cybermen (cybus) are exhibits at the theme park and don’t do anything, whereas there is ONE live mondasian cyberman (the damaged one with rings) and this is the LAST CYBERMAN (Hence the old title)this cyberman then tries to get the doctor and Clara but fails. So then he goes and converts himself into a more efficient model in his tombs which are in the theme park as a 3D backdrop for the cyber exhibits. This cyberman RUNS and converts the army people and the owner (mr hedgewick?). Warwick Davies escapes and the doctor has no choice but to let the cybermen go as they are far too powerful for him to deal with.

Possibly Doctor Who’s take on the early stages of being assimilated into a Borg Drone, where once the Borg inject you into the neck with Nanoprobes, you start to develop Cybernetic implants all over your body that in the case of most implants appear through your skin, only in this case, it changes you slowly into a Cyberman.

Take a look at the guy who says “Hail to you the Doctor, saviour of the Cybermen”, you’ll notice that by the time he says that, he has more of a Cyberman teardrop eye then he does earlier on the in the story from what can be seen in both trailers.

When the 10th Doctor is in the library with Riversong and he said there was only one time that I could have told you my name, what if he appears at the end of the finale and tells river and saves everyone and then this leads onto the 50th anniversary

Just no. Delete is a stupid phrase that should never have been assotiated with Cybermen. In fact it never was – it is only associated with “Cybus-men”.

Since I can’t post up a link, I’ll just post up the teasers from SFX that everyone has been talking about!
The episode title “Nightmare In Silver” seems somewhat inappropriate, because this doesn’t feel like a particularly dark or terrifying episode.

It’s an unusually child-friendly (or child-like… or possibly even childish) episode – in fact, at times, it’s very like watching a CBBC show.

And that’s not just because it has a couple of kids in it – the kids don’t actually get much to do.

This episode does for the Cybermen what 2005’s “Dalek” did for the pepperpots (and, indeed, what “Cold War” recently did for the Ice Warriors).

Most of the tweaks (or upgrades?) work well. But if you’re one of those who dislike the stompy Cybus Cybermen you’ll probably wish they’d gone even further.

Matt Smith gets to play four different characters (sort of). Two of them very badly.
Opinion may be divided on the third.

There are returns for: a familiar piece of music, a bit of kit the Doctor hasn’t used much lately, an old Cyber-Achilles heel, two post-2005 catchphrases, and a couple of filming locations (which hardcore fans will probably recognise instantly).

Also keep your eyes peeled for something from a Toby Whithouse episode.

A big secret is hiding in plain sight. One of the kids works it out. Can you?

Things this episode might remind you of 1: a character from The Beano.

Things this episode might remind you of 2: Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Things this episode might remind you of 3: this little girl. *Girl from remembrance of the daleks*
Things this episode might remind you of 4: this little girl *Girl from The Exorcist*
Things this episode might remind you of 5: cabaret acts like this: *A half-woman-half-man act*

The Dalek episode was a massive disappointment. S.Moffat said that EVERY type of Dalek will return. I did n’t see the Necros Dalek. At least one classic Dalek could have spoke.

  • Doctor Stu

    May 5th, 2013 - 12:34pm

I agree with Esterath but it could be a different version of Clara 😮

  • Da Big Friendly Button

    May 5th, 2013 - 12:32pm

Did anyone see the running Cyberman?

  • Da Big Friendly Button

I would imagine that would be the outcome
