What happened to ‘I’m the Doctor’?

“I’m the Doctor, and I save people!”
    nearly as good as
“I’m the Doctor, the man that stops the monsters!”

To be honest, I’m not that excited for Series 9. It looks the same as Series 8, but with Maisie Williams. And the rest of it is the same as Matt Smith’s series’: the Daleks, the space suits, Clara, Missy, chased by zombies, running through corridors etc.

And that new monster in the 3rd pic is probably one where, if you smell it, you die. We’ve already had ‘don’t blink’, ‘don’t breath’, ‘don’t think’, ‘don’t see or hear’ twice, ‘don’t believe’, ‘don’t forget’…

    Possible theory for Episode 1?

The Doctor and Clara visit a warzone planet, to find that the Daleks are fighting in it. The Doctor and Clara become allies with the opposition but a lot of the soldiers in the opposition are untrained? They get killed off by the Daleks. The Doctor finds that Davros is behind the whole thing, so The Doctor goes back to Skaro to kill him as a young boy. He drops off Clara and Clara finds Missy, somehow, and asks for her help to save The Doctor.

Not sure if the whole thing about The Doctor killing Davros is real or if it was just made up…

In picture 13, does it seem as though the TARDIS set has been reduced in size diameter wise ?

My view on some of the pictures –

PICTURE 4 : 1974 ‘Death to the Daleks’ silver Dalek. Interesting 🙂

PICTURE 10: Looks like Skaro, Maybe a new look to the Dalek city from their very first appearance.

PICTURES 13 AND 14: Hello roundals [a.k.a. the round things], nice to see them back !! 😀

PICTURE 18: Clearly not Davros, but he does leave me with that impression.

PICTURE 21: Rock and Roll Doctor !!, Dum De Dum, Dum De Dum, Dum De Dum, ohhh weee ohhhh !!.

PICTURE 25: Obviously a redressing of the set from ‘Into the Dalek’ which if the inside of Rusty the Daleks eyestalk. Nice bit of redressing there, but shame it’s so obviously what it was originally build for last series.

    PICTURE 26: Thal’s or Kaled’s ? . . . . or neither.

Yep, 1974 ‘Death to the Daleks’ model from the looks of it as it appears to be silver.

This season looks awesome! Judging by the trailer, it looks like some of my major complaints about the Twelfth Doctor will be dealt with! He’s being nice to Clara, and he’s acting more fun, but judging by the dialogue, he isn’t losing any of his darkness, which is great. I’m thinking the alien city might be the Dalek City, and since there’s a 60’s Dalek behind a Time War Dalek in the trailer, I’m guessing the Daleks are returning to Skaro! Missy’s showing up. Hopefully she’ll be acting more like the Master, instead of just some unfamiliar female villain. The girl at the end of the trailer makes me think she might be Susan. All in all, this season looks like it will be a fun, but epic series. Hopefully, they’ll be concluding the Gallifrey arc this season, too. Ever since Series 8, I’ve been almost consistently disappointed with Steven Moffat’s episodes, and the fun, but epic stories I felt he wrote for the Eleventh Doctor seemed like a distant memory. Now, I once again feel like I’m going to be impressed with almost every episode.

So are we to assume that it’s another Time Lord/Lady, if so at least it narrows it down to four ( I think).

This trailer, for me atleast, seems to be interpreting series 9 as quite mystical with a bit more of a bizzarre and sinister side to it. The new monsters look quite intrigueing, and in some cases creepy, Missy and the Zygons are back, and the Daleks appear to have some of their older 1960s models in the background of their shot as well. Interesting..Also, that city at 0:37 reminds me of both a Gallifreyan city and the Dalek city of Kalaan on Skaro. I’m leaning slightly more towards it being inhabited by a Dalek population considering the landscape it is situated in, which looks to me like what we saw in the teaser images, vaguely resembles the battlefield wastelands of Skaro from Genesis of the Daleks. Hype!

The second still looks like some sort of Viking King. (Shortly after that in the trailer it looks like a Time War Dalek being destroyed).

The third does in some way remind me of the Whisper Men from The Name Of The Doctor.

The fourth suggests an alliance between the modern and classic Daleks (Perhaps something to do with the war which we glimpse?)

The fifth seems to show a victim of the war (possibly that between the Kaleds and the Thals on Skaro).

The tenth still resembles some sort of advance city. (Could all the ball like design’s point towards the Daleks?)

Still twelve reminds me of the Fires Of Pompeii. (Could that be a Soothsayer?)

Image sixteen and footage from the trailer seems to show The Mistress finding herself in an unexpected (possibly even scary from the look in her eyes) situation.

The twentieth image shows a Zygon stealing the young of the Earth.

Image twenty-six offers a further glimpse of the war (as I said, maybe between the Kaleds and the Thals).

Still twenty-seven suggests that The Mistress’ conversation with Clara has been suddenly interupted.

Twenty-eight suggests The Doctor is either shocked, suddenly realising or pondering on what to do.

Finally, the last two stills seem to show The Doctor meeting someone from his past (perhaps even someone we all know).

10th picture down seems reminiscent Dalek city of old, briefly glimpsed again in Asylum of the Daleks near the start. Plus Whisper Men with facial features in the video ?
