Hamlet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet?
“Hamlet [with David Tennant]. I saw it recently.”
John Pertwee, Tom Baker, David Tennant or Matt Smith?
“I think you know what I’m going to say here. Yes. David Tennant is the best.”

April 18th, 2011 - 8:06pmI think the new skittle daleks (as i like to call them) are awful. I think we should go back to Terry Nation’s original Daleks

May 18th, 2010 - 11:16pmIn my opinion, the new daleks are great. But it does’nt look like the new team (producers etc…) are as good as RTD and julie (whas her name). But i do love the new series!!

April 24th, 2010 - 12:49pmIt looks to me like the new Daleks can be made by vacuum forming plastic I assume to cut costs. the problem is they look like vacuum formed plastic, cheap and nasty and to add insult to injury the proportions are all off. they look awful to me.

April 20th, 2010 - 11:07amWhat a spoiler. On Wednesday the RT comes out. So its no suprise they appear on Saturday. Stupid idea to have them on RT cover. New Dalek tubbies, are terrible.

April 20th, 2010 - 3:38amJust compare them over the years: http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/9019/dalekdesign.jpg
It’s quite clear in comparison that the new ones are utterly, utterly dreadful.

April 18th, 2010 - 11:57am@Last of the Timelords
yes but in any 1 episode there has only really been a 1st in command (maybe a 2nd in command too) and then the army but now there are more like a tatical squad which dosen’t make sense as daleks are the same so a drone dalek should be able to do the job of a strategist in exactly the same way and vise versa so there is no point to them. Also I liked it when they were all gold, it showed that they were supreme while showing that they are emotionless and all the same creature.

April 18th, 2010 - 11:25amI wish the old version of David and the Daliaks. The new ones are rubbish.

April 17th, 2010 - 8:41pmI really wished two things about those big “boxy” coloured Daleks.
1: That they dont exist or will not be appearing in the actual episode and are not actually real or canonical.
2: That if by such great misfortune they are appearing in the episode, which I will be seeing tonight, that I hadnt seen this page, bit of a spoiler. Ahh sigh.

April 17th, 2010 - 8:22pmI Hate them. Why would a species that hate anything with emotion have coloured daleks anyway? and yes I know it is for their ranks but why not just have different tags and I thought all daleks were the same so shouldn’t any dalek be able to think on their own without relying on a rainbow team of daleks. Seriously one emperor should be enough for their army and wouldn’t daleks that were created by davros himself be more pure than a load of freak daleks and why change a thing everyone loves to stupid freak that looks like it cost them 5p to make.

April 17th, 2010 - 8:00pmI know how you feel we got slated for out Dalek drawings but as people can now see they 100% accurate.

Last of the Timelords
April 17th, 2010 - 7:23pmI’ve just watched the episode, and they look brilliant. There are no more “old” Daleks. Those new ones exterminated them. Not exactly fair.

I don’t theorise on these things as it’s pointless to try and second-guess what the writers have come up with. Based on the facts I know about these ‘nu-daleks'(a few stills in a few TV listings mags), I can’t form a proper opinion and can’t until I see them on screen, but I do agree that from what I’ve seen they look a bit odd. Not bad, odd. (Odd is the new good for me the Moff era) They still look very much like Daleks though and it is good to know that when they do invade, they will be busy mowing down and suckering the faces off people who just laugh at them, giving me time to be on my toes to safety!! Thanks for making the ultimate sacrifice.
“especially in this day of advanced kids who expect more then a leap in to the past.” Just who are these terrifying super beings who are unable to accept history and why are they bothering to watch an updated version of a TV show from 1963 if it doesn’t meet their digitally enhanced expectations? The “advanced kids” in my family have been nothing but complimentary about the first two episodes of Moff’s era and love Matt as the Doctor (“he’s the best since Tom” says one 9 year old, bravely ignoring his owns generation inability to see past the present and leaping to a past he was not even part of to form his own valid 21st century opinion now). I firmly believe that it will take more than a few jelly baby coloured Daleks and a St.Johns Ambulance badge to change that.

im 14 and ive luved dr who since i was like 3. i have to admit that i was more of a fan of old who in the RTD era. many pepo i know who have watched old who are more of a fan of that than RTDs who
those who became fans of the show in the 21st centuary only became a fan because it came back in 2005
also dr who has many meanings and one is dr who= change

April 16th, 2010 - 4:56pmTo Koquillion
No i would not (and did not) say that back in 2005. Who HAD to change then to be in with a chance of working. RTD did and made the right choices, by looking at things like Buffy and other shows that Who needed to compete with (on a world wide scale)and making Doctor Who into the huge hit it is today.
Things have to progress, regressing to the past can be a dangerous thing to do, especially in this day of advanced kids who expect more then a leap in to the past.
With these new Daleks I have a theory that they will be the ‘leaders’ of each division, and that the ‘RTD’ gold Daleks will be the fighting force. At least that is what I hope. If i saw one of those coloured ones heading my way I think I would laugh. They do not look threatening at all. Now the gold ones on the other hand you can beleive and see the menace in them.

April 16th, 2010 - 1:37pm@ CG,
“Moffat is intent on making this new series a rehash of the Cushing movies. TARDIS exterior first and now the Daleks. What next?”
not so long ago would you have posted:
RTD is intent on making this new series a rehash of the Cushing movies. Tardis interior (with police box doors visible on the inside, just like the movies) and now Bernard Cribbins flying about in the TARDIS. What next?
I’m not being petty here, just pointing out that elements from the movies have been used before and will probably be used in the future. Like using a movie Dalek in “Day of the Daleks”…..

April 16th, 2010 - 10:47amOn the point of the slats not being there. If you look back to the original Daleks, they never had them. It may be because of them only being able to run on metal back then but still.
