What Did You Think of Doctor Who An Unearthly Child?

What Did You Think of An Unearthly Child?

Schoolteachers Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton become intrigued by one of their pupils, Susan Foreman, and visit her home address – a junkyard at 76 Totter’s Lane – where they meet her grandfather, the Doctor.

The Doctor and Susan are aliens who travel through time and space in their ship, the TARDIS, which looks like an ordinary police box but actually houses a huge gleaming control room. The TARDIS takes them all to a Palaeolithic landscape where they encounter a tribe that has lost the secret of fire.

That’s the whole point of “AAIS&T” – recreating what happened in 1963 right down to the recording of “AUC”.

I reckon it’ll run for 26 years before being defeated by it’s terrible arch nemesis… michael grade
It’ll have a controversial T.V movie and return in 2005 more appreciated than ever before…

    But that’s just a thought
    😉

Seeing this compared to AAISAT, I think that it was really good.

I like the way how in AAISAT the actors (David Bradley etc….) used the same words in the same style as in this.

Watched An Unearthly Child when first shown, watched it again. Incidentally, have watched Dr Who throughout, in all regenerations…..Think that sums up how good it was and still is!! Not too sure about Dr Who brandishing the flint knife though!

What did they think they were doing with this show? It won’t make it past the first serial, let alone the first series!
