Daily express are claiming to have revealed the contents of the vault if it’s genuine or just click bait I don’t know but everyone tread carefully around the internet this week if you don’t want to be spoiled

I enjoyed this episode, best of this season so far. Jamie Mathieson is a good writer much better than most of the others.
One issue I found was when the Doctor looks out of the university window from his office he can see the milky way? I’m not sure where this university is but I do know you need exceptionally dark skies to see our milky way! As you will know we suffer from light pollution here in Britain. There are dark sky sites dotted around, but I’m pretty sure no universities are in the middle of these areas.
Yes I’m being picky, but as an amateur astronomer it bothers me.
Jamie Mathieson could well be a future showrunner, I for one would welcome it.

So then… the Doctor has a handicap now eh? What a twist. Mathieson needs to write more. If it weren’t for the Moffat influence on The Girl Who Died, it might have been a better episode. Mummy and Flatline are more in keeping with this episode and just go to show that Mathieson wasn’t to blame for TGWD. Anyway, I think I liked this episode. I will need to re-watch it though…

Very good episode. ‘Oxygen’ was a well written, superbly acted and gripping story. This series is certainly shaping up to be the best series for quite some time.

Tension, gripping, clever, agonising, heart felt moments and in places very cinematic.

Honestly this is my favourite episode of Capaldi’s era so far.

As for The Doctor being blind. What a great idea, never been done before and will be interesting to see how it plays out. Excited for next week now!

Oxygen is a tricky episode to give a score to for me as there were some really great scenes and other bits which were kind of forgettable.
Anyway, so far in series 10…

    The Pilot: 8/10
    Smile: 6.5/10
    Thin Ice: 8/10
    Knock Knock: 7/10
    Oxygen: 7.5/10

    Average score so far: 7.4/10

Apart from the zombie like scene at the start, the Doctor saving Bill and the trailer, this was a bit weaker than previous, it was an ok story, but felt a tad bit mediocre. And the way Nardole ranted and raved at the Doctor was like watching a child moan at their parents after not getting their own way. And thats coming from someone who likes Nardole.

    The Pilot 4/10.
    Smile 8/10.
    Thin Ice 7/10.
    Knock Knock 6/10.
    Oxygen 5.5/10.

Well, what makes perfect sense to one person can be confusing and stupid to another. That’s just the way it works (although I personally felt the episode made sense, I understand others won’t necessarily agree with me there).

Another one of my arguably thought provoking reviews…

Jamie Mathison is a discrace, and the Doctor isn’t the character I thought he was. This isn’t the moody Tenth doctor we all have a soft spot for. Nor the proud first doctor, or the caring fifth doctor. Ladies and gentlemen, the twelfth doctor is a COWARD.

If what is in the vault is so dangerous, I can’t believe it, because the doctor doesn’t seem to care anymore.

Peter Capaldi could have been the best doctor yet, but sadly because of the shocking writing of his time on the show, he has been let down. Big finish, it’s up to you guys now. Redeem 12!!!

This is my opinion remember. Believe what you want.

    1/10.

Due to you spelling “disgrace” wrong I’m going to assume that you’re a child who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Also you’re just blurting out old news that doesn’t even apply to this episode, I can’t even comprehend what I’ve just read.

    • Dr RevWho

      May 13th, 2017 - 8:22pm

I respectfully disagree with you. I don’t really see 12 as being cowardly, but rather bored of having to stay in one place for so long – it’s the whole reason he left Gallifrey in the first place. And, if he’s such a coward, why would he be willing to risk his life for Bill’s sake when she’s exposed to the vacuum or, in regards to the vault, enforce such a responsibility upon himself in the first place?
Not trying to change your mind, but hopefully I’ve given you something to think about also.

Honestly, before Series 10, I might have agreed with you there. Series 8 was disappointing and Series 9 was a mess, yet, to me, Series 10 seems set to be one of the best series in ages. Feel free to disagree, that’s just my take on things. 🙂

If that is genuinely how you feel then I do feel very sorry for you! The 12th Doctor has moulded himself into the HERO that he is today over the past few years!
As for the episode itself, well, not every episode is to everyone’s taste and again, you are entitled to your opinion but WHAT WERE YOU WATCHING? IT WAS AMAZING!!!!

    • The Other

      May 13th, 2017 - 8:56pm

Before Series 10 I may have agreed with you. However Series 10 is the best series since 2005 – not a single dud episode, they’ve all been great.

The 12th Doctor proved once again tonight exactly why he is an amazing Doctor tonight by sacrificing his sight to save Bill, and as for leaving The Vault when he isn’t supposed to – that’s one of the Doctor’s most defining traits, it’s why he left Gallifrey in the first place. BTW the moodiness is what I hate about The 10th Doctor.

    • The Dalek Whovian

      May 13th, 2017 - 9:52pm

I must disagree after he risked his own life in the atmosphere of space to save Bill, I think it’s fair to say that the 12th Doctor is far from a coward. Also the Doctor has never been able to stay in one place despite danger, the 3rd Doctor always tried to leave Earth when he was trapped on it.

    • The Living Shadow

      May 13th, 2017 - 11:26pm

Coward? But he’s not trying to lock what ever is in the vault away, I’d say he’s confident, if anything. He’s not worried about, or cowering away from what ever is in the vault. Well he is now, after being blinded! I don’t blame him!

    • The Living Shadow

      May 13th, 2017 - 11:33pm

I got a good chuckle from you calling the 12th Doctor a coward and using the ’10th “I don’t wanna go” Doctor’ as an example of a non-cowardly Doctor… a Doctor whose development went from “Regeneration doesn’t hurt” to “I’m going to die!” (Not that I dislike the 10th Doctor, just to clarify)

Best episode of the series so far, and best episode overall since ‘Face the Raven’. I hope Jamie Mathieson stays on when Chris Chibnall takes over the show, because he’s written my favourite stories for the Twelfth Doctor so far. ‘Mummy on the Orient Express’ is still my favourite – I think actually seeing the countdown helped to ramp up the tension in that one – but ‘Oxygen’ was pretty close, and, after that cliffhanger, I’m looking forward to next week’s episode (even if Missy is in it).

My score for ‘Oxygen’ – 9/10.

Much better and with more of a creepy feeling about it, a nice nod to the opening of Star Trek at the beginning using it’s introductory words. If the remaining of the stories keep this up and possibly improve, the show will truly be ready for a reboot when Chris Chibnall takes over, maybe it’s already started here.

There were a few bits I found confusing and a bit questionable, but still very good. Matt Lucas excellent. Supporting cast very good. Was grateful for Mathieson avoiding exposition while still providing background to the setting. Still incredible that all his episodes have been brilliant. And that is a hell of a cliffhanger.
