February 23rd, 2020 - 7:14pmNot great but not dreadful either.
Interesting concept and could be so much more with a decent Doctor.
4/10
The Temporal Jelly Baby
February 23rd, 2020 - 6:54pmIt starts off fairly well with the haunted house mystery/introduction to the characters. Yet, while very atmospheric, it’s unexciting.
Once the Cyberman appears, things really perk up – though, unfortunately, any development for the side characters/subplots is cast aside. The design of the Lone Cyberman is brilliant, even a bit scary. There are a couple of unusually dark moments for Doctor Who (fast forwarding Shelley’s mind to his death by drowning; Ashad saying how he snapped his children’s necks). It’s also interesting seeing a Cyberman with emotions (not fully upgraded). The usage of the perception filter is quite clever, as is the reason for the initial spookiness. That being said, was the hand ever explained? The Doctor gave away the Cyberium a little too easily though.
Overall: alright at the start, then pretty great once the Lone Cyberman appears with a number of tense and gripping scenes.
Score: 7.85/10.
Doctor….Who?
February 23rd, 2020 - 2:50pmThe strongest episode of the series I think. Brilliant writing and excellent acting. Hats off to all of you who worked on this story!

February 22nd, 2020 - 12:22pmThanks to The Watcher for letting me know I was tricked. I thought I enjoyed that episode but you’ve shown me the truth!

February 21st, 2020 - 12:00pmI urge people not to fall for the obvious trick being played here. Don’t be blinded by the fact a ‘spare parts’ Cyberman has appeared and that other designs from modern Who and a new ‘call back’ design will appear in the finale. People have wanted to see similar but just because they appear on screen does not mean the episode is actually good. It’s the same as Moffat’s fan service. The problems that have plagued Jodie’s era are still present here, some are just desperately trying to see past it. Please people, remain focused!

February 19th, 2020 - 4:33pmThis was one of the finer episodes of the series. Also Haters aren,t propping up the show . Its the people who love it regardless and thats why they are still commenting and still watching. Non regular viewers only tend to jump on board out of passing curiosity. when viewing figures are consolidated they roughly tend to be 5-6 million anyway. Not yet low enough to see the show cancelled anytime soon.
The Moffat Paradox
February 19th, 2020 - 4:13pmInteresting to read Doctor Stu’s comment considering that, as perfectly entitled to be, Doctor Stu was one of those more positive/ receptive here to the Chibnall/Whittaker tenure. So perhaps we have the beginning of a consensus that this is, if possible, a ship that needs to be righted.
But “The Haunting of Villa Diodat” and the upcoming Cybermen finale whatever issues with canon at the end might be thrown up did gel with me more as being in the spirit of previous even modern Who.
Doctor Stu
February 19th, 2020 - 9:55amThat’s fair enough to say but whatever you think of Doctor Who there’s no denying that viewing figures have plummeted and it’s all well and good saying ‘well viewing figures aren’t an accurate indication of interest any more’ and yet they were a pretty good indication of interest when Jodie’s first episode had around 11 million or whatever it was. If the haters stop watching then god knows what the viewing figures will fall to then. I’d rather listen to people whine and moan (me included) than have them abandon the show and plummet the viewership ever further

February 18th, 2020 - 6:55pmAnother poorly written and average episode at best. I still can’t work out that while looking for the baby why did the Cyberman suddenly move like Robocop?
