I’ve tried very hard to accept what Chibnall ‘s done, but I just can’t. Too much change for what seems like change for change’s sake. I’ll watch Swansong of the Daleks, yes I know it’s not called that, but it might as well be, then I’m done.

Did anyone else notice the small conversation between Graham & the character played by Julie Graham?

Her character: “You’re strange” or something to that effect.
Graham: “Excuse me, I’m the Do(c), I’m the most normal bloke you’ll ever meet”

Surely if that was an error, it should’ve been edited out?

Interesting how Adam talks about a separate Cybermen series. Would probably never happen though as Terry Nation in the 60’s wanted a spin off Dalek series he was trying to sell to America that came to nothing.

And, nothing spoilerish, but I’ve heard it said that whatever the big reveal on Sunday actually is if we don’t like it we shouldn’t necessarily go ballistic here or anywhere else about it as it’s very probably part of a BIGGER story arc in which nothing with potential implications for canon is necessarily FULLY SETTLED.

So even I might forgo posting here for a bit after Sunday night while I’m still processing and listening to/reading the reactions of others.

I enjoyed the Cybermen in this episode, maybe they’ll get their own spin off series…

To the anonymous poster. I was referring to that one individual in person, not calling out all Doctor who fans. The offender did indeed overstep the mark using a regular posters alias and who for a while was oblivious to this.We don,t need ‘people’ like this sowing and spreading vitriolic comments amongst others. We are simply here to comment on the weeks episode if we so choose.

To start with, the pre-titles sequence is amazing. Very creative. The following 20 minutes or so are pretty intense, exciting and action-packed. The threat of the Cybermen is portrayed well, with a good performance from Jodie Whittaker. Meanwhile, Ashad continues to be an interesting character and compelling villain.

Some of the later bits sag a little with the pacing (at least in comparison to the start), but there’s still plenty of good stuff, like the Cyberman graveyard in space and the Doctor’s conversation with hologram Ashad. The side characters are moderately well-written and acted. Yaz and Graham both had a part to play, though Ryan does very little in this episode.

I really like the new Cyberman design, and the cliffhanger is brilliant. There are some good CGI/visual effects in this one too. Meanwhile, the storyline in Ireland is certainly intriguing. It’s currently completely separate from the rest of the story, but I assume it won’t remain that way.

As a nitpick, parking the TARDIS too far away is a bit silly.

Overall, a very good start to the finale. As for scoring, I’d say the 2nd part of the story is necessary to reach a proper score so I will only give this episode a provisional score: 8.5/10.

Yes I also like this forum very much because on the whole people make their views known but do not overly criticize those whose views differ. To be honest seeing different viewpoints is healthy. Most certainly other sites, particularly on YouTube, can be absolutely vile. Really hope the final is enjoyable anyway guys (and of course we girls). If nothing else Series 12 has improved upon 11 which I do think the majority found very disappointing and quite lacking the Who feel.

Thank you booboo, I do like this forum and those who post on here.

Although I do not agree with everyone I still respect that they love this show just as I do, and lot’s don’t agree with me but that’s fine you also feel passionate about the Doctor, without us there would be no Doctor Who.

Hope you all enjoy the final.

Apologies if the poster wasn,t you Pats 86. I didn,t want to think it was you as your comments have been fair and gracious to other posters of late but it seemed odd given that we are more aware of moderation. Even though you make it clear you don,t like Jodie, it seemed aggressive for you that you would comment like this. Someone has obviously taken one of your early previous posts, as It sounded familiar to an early comment that is why i mentioned ‘Verbatim go to Comments’ . I can,t believe the depths some people sink just to bait and turn people against each other. Sorry once again Pats86. That offender is just sad and pathetic.

yes and we know who it was and they have now been blocked, as for comments unless its aggressive or abusive they will have to stay, we cant just delete stuff other people don’t want to hear any more than any other form of social media or forum, its widespread.

to be fair here its mostly pretty tame compared to what i read elsewhere.

But we will review things later however.

People are entitled to their opinions and i enjoy reading all peoples comments and reviews. Its just whenever certain posters get the opportunity and the moderator isn,t checking they veer from being constructive in their appraisal to sneakily pressing in their verbatim go to comments, to bait people just for some attention. Attacking the actors performance is one thing but to take nasty swipes at people who like jodie and her crew is shameful. No truer words are spoken in jest
