i thought it was pretty cool but ive watched doctor who for along time and the show is very popular so why would the stop now?

There is obviously a loop hole to prevent the doctors death, for one thing he still has to meet river song before she dies in the library with the 10th doctor so he obviously survives, further to this the tardis matrix pointed out that she had all the future tardis consoles stored meaning that unless the doctor re-decorates about 17 times before he goes to Utah he’s got a few episodes to go yet.

I think that the doctor will actually die, the doctor who industry is still booming an making millions so why would they stop it now??

      i forgort to put this.
River killed a diffenrent person not the doctor . Steven moffat has a plan to escape the doctors death. the valeyard was beatween 12and the 13 doctor so his future regenerations has to come

it’s River, anyway it was proven in the latest episode that River was forced to kill him.

hey guys i have an idea how they will save the doctor. do you guys remember the episode The Almost People. there is a clone of the doctor. Yes i know he liquidfied but if he was as real as the doctor he would regenerate wouldnt he. so on astronaut he clone died.

the doctor cant die because the doctor will always exist in another time as in when he was killed in this episode the younger version came to that time so even if he does die there will always be a version of him somewhere to come back

  • person

    April 30th, 2011 - 10:13pm

I think that the girl in the sute is Amy’s and the Doctor’s daughter.

    Just a theory!

    April 27th, 2011 - 2:43pm

maybe the little girl is the hologram prieviosly seen on that ship in the lodger n there was sum 1 else in that suit who shot the doctor

Yeah Beacuse Craig (James Corden) Is Ment 2 Be Returning This Series!

  • Doctorwhogeek

    April 26th, 2011 - 10:26pm

Well, I think its a bit annoying that we won’t see a change in doctor for 200 odd years… because the Doctor That died on the beach was a future one but was still the 11th Doctor… And also my Dad had a cool idea, Is the child in the astronaut suit Amy’s son/daughter??? Who knows…

  • Mrs Tennant

    April 26th, 2011 - 10:03pm

One thing that didn’t add up for me is that if Amy knew she was pregnant, why was she drinking a glass of wine at the picnic? Maybe the silence is making her think she is pregnant for some reason? Also the astronaut suits are very much like the one that River Song turns up in Silence in the Library, plus all the people on that trip were Americans, so could the little girl be CAL?! Just a theory!

    • beverly

      April 27th, 2011 - 10:21pm

thatswhat i was thinking!!!with amy and river in the suit

  • chas

    April 26th, 2011 - 7:14pm

the episode was good but very confusing

  • Alex165 (

    April 25th, 2011 - 6:51pm

When Steven said it would come back with a bang, he really ment it! In the first five minutes of the episode, the doctor was dead, burning on a canoe in the sea!

So that was a pretty strange experience, but the one thing i loved about this one was the monsters, they really are scarier than the daleks, cybermen and sontarans! Yes, they are the monst scary and freakish looking monsters i’ve seen yet!

A good cliffhanger to, but just because Amy shot the girl, doesn’t mean shes dead, because shes still alive in the ‘NEXT TIME…’ trailer.

Er…what were you watching my friend…maybe you had ITV on 🙂
      a) The Doctor died – how on earth did you miss that…haha.
      b) It wasnt really confusing…it was just about time travel…funny that 🙂

    • Alex165 (

      April 25th, 2011 - 6:54pm

Yeah, thats pretty insane, the doctor died 5 minutes into the progam, the new monsters blasted all the old monsters down to the bottom 10 and I agree with ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ it wasn’t that confusing at all

No death , The future Doctor died and the woman called Joy got killed by the silents in the restroom. It wasn’t that confusing in my opinion the Big Bang was more complicated than this episode. I Agree with The Dark Side of the Moon you must have been watching ITV 🙂

I Think Rive Might Die Or She Just Leaves After Episode 2 For Abit Because If You Look On Episode 3 On This Site (Curse Of The Black Spot) Then River Is Not In The Episode…

OH.MY.GOD!!!!!! It was, it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!
But, a little confuzzled at how only Amy could see the Silent on that hill… ? It was a fantabulous start to the series ACTION FIESTA!! 😀

    • Wolfberry

      April 28th, 2011 - 12:26pm

Even if the others had seen it too, they wouldn’t of known when they asked Amy what she saw!

  • dr daddy cool 67

    April 25th, 2011 - 11:27am

A brilliant start to the new series, I havent read any of the other comments her but here is my guess on the new series. Amy is pregnant, and she has a little girl. That girl grows up to become River Song perhaps??? and it is River Song in the spacesuit that shoots the doctor in the opening episode?? She has said she killed a good man to be put in jail. Thats just my theory, looking forward to episode 2.
I enjoyed episode one more than ever as, when I turned to look at my 3 children, they were all clutching a cushion to hide behind when the Silent creatures came on . Doctor Who at its best.

  • doctorwhoforever

    April 25th, 2011 - 10:56am

The thing I don’t get about the Impossible Astronaut is that nobody died. Amy shot the spaceman before it killed the Doctor meaning he doesn’t die. That was the only disapointment of the epsiode. It scared me half to death with the Silence and I had to check the room in case there was one in the room. There wasn’t luckily.

    • GeeDee742

      April 25th, 2011 - 1:34pm

I thought when i was watching it there was a silent in the room… but then i turned away and forgot 😀

Interesting that Amy has a sick stomach and is now telling the Doctor she is pregnant. Did you also catch that River has the same upset stomach? Hmmmm

    • doctorwhoforever

      April 25th, 2011 - 10:58am

It is becuase that seems like what happens when you forget the Silence. I don’t think Amy’s sick stomach then was due to her pregnancy.

I thought that the doctor who episode was really good, confusing at first but then I grasped what was going on, the only thing I didn’t get was, why did amy scream when she shot the astronaut. Can anybody tell me?

    • Anonymous

      April 25th, 2011 - 6:06pm

      she may have shot herself

    • Anonymous

      April 25th, 2011 - 8:03pm

She screamed because she just realised she shot a little girl.

This episode was just ‘meh’. I don’t particularly like Stephen Moffatt’s episodes (he should go back to writing so-so sitcoms) and I’m having a hard time warming to Matt Smith. And for god’s sake get rid of River blimmin’ Song. She adds nothing and is too smug for her own good.

Ecclestone was good, Tennant was better, Smith doesn’t come close. I’m enjoying the repeats of Tennant’s episodes on digital TV better than the new Doctor’s stories. In fact I’ve taken to watching ‘classic’ Who lately – Tom Baker & Peter Davison FTW

I think the Silence are a great new monster. Can’t wait to see how their story develops in the next episode and probably through the whole series.

  • ajoshmilesproduction

    April 24th, 2011 - 8:17pm

Very confusing at first, then i got it. The Silence are very scary. One second you know they are there, the next, you have forgot!

  • Angel Tim

    April 24th, 2011 - 6:51pm

Looking at the clip, I THINK the ood are returning in ep2 and amy said “wait till you see what’s coming for you now!” Though she might be talking about someone or something else. 😕 ❓ ❓ ❓
